Globe Pharma has enriched antiasthamtic portfolios by launching Letol (Levosalbutamol) tablet and syrup
January 10, 2013
Globe Pharma launched Letol tablet (2 mg) and syrup (1 mg/5 ml). Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator and works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing. It is used to treat reversible obstructive airway conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema. Levosalbutamol is the R-enantiomer of the short-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist salbutamol. Activation of beta2-adrenergic receptors on airway smooth muscle and relaxes the smooth muscles of all airways, from the trachea to the terminal bronchioles. The presence of only the R-enantiomer produces fewer side effects.
